Bartlett Dam Road Drainage Improvement Map

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be repairing and replacing headwalls on Bartlett Dam Road, west of Horseshoe Dam Road near Bartlett Lake, from Friday, April 11, to Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

A headwall is a retaining wall placed at the inlet or outlet of a culvert or drainage pipe. Its primary function is to anchor the pipe, prevent soil erosion, and maintain the alignment of the drainage system.

The work will consist of:

  • Replacing damaged headwalls and safety rails as needed.

  • Debris removal from inlet and outlet.

  • Other concrete repairs and site cleanup as needed.

Access to Bartlett Dam Road and Bartlett Lake will be maintained at all times, although drivers may encounter a lane and speed limit reduction in the project area. This work is expected to last approximately one week.
