Economic Development focuses on the sustainable commercial growth of the Town to support the public and commercial services provided to residents and businesses.  As a Town that relies on sales tax to fund its public services, it's important to strike a balance that ensures economic sustainability while maintaining the small town charm that makes Carefree a great destination.  

Economic Development works with businesses, property owners and developers, as well as ensuring that Carefree provides the proper infrastructure, activities and programs to support a healthy business environment.

Economic Development staffs the Economic Development Advisory Board, which provides a public forum to discuss economic development planning, projects and programs. The EDAB meetings general follow the scheduled Planning and Zoning Commission meetings the second Tuesday of each month.
