The updated General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Small Municipal Separate Sewer Systems to Protected Surface Waters (General Permit) was approved on September 30,2021. The new document requires the Town of Carefree (permittee) to perform several functions on an annual basis.
These functions include:
1. Posting the Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) for modifications and updates to meet the terms and conditions of the General Permit.
2. Perform Public Education and Outreach that focuses on the impacts of stormwater discharges, and
3. Provide opportunities to engage the public to participate in the review and implementation of the SWMP.
To meet these objectives the Town has listed the following educational documents on the impacts of stormwater discharges and their effect on protected surface waters. Please review these documents and contact our Town Engineer, Mark Milstone 480.488.3686 with any questions, concerns, or modifications you’d like to see on any of these items.
