This 80 acre central business district is nestled between two main arterial streets, Tom Darlington Drive and Cave Creek Road. At the center of this pedestrian centric Town Center is an unparalleled community event space composed of a Desert Botanical Garden, Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion (mountain framed outdoor amphitheater), scorpion featured splash pad, numerous water features, giant Gila Monster Slide and intimate gathering spaces highlighted by gas fireplaces with plush seating areas and numerous shaded picnic ramadas.

The Town's new Economic Development Community Relations Director is Steve Prokopek.

 Fast Facts on Carefree

Recently, the Town commissioned a Master Plan to envision the future and cultivate a strategic plan to ensure that the town marketing efforts and development efforts provide for the needs of the Town Center’s affluent market trade area. The consumer preference surveys determined that:
• There is trade leakage in most retail categories;
• 53% eat out a least 2 or more times a week;
• 41% would consider living in the Town Center; and
• The most desired businesses are dining and entertainment oriented
Based upon these findings, the Town has initiated a number of proactive strategies to cultivate opportunities to bring additional opportunities to meet consumer demand within the market trade area. The recent announcement and approval of the Easy Street luxury condominium project is one the initial steps to diversify and expand the business opportunities within the Town Center.
